The Glasgow Cineworld IMAX was the first of its kind north of the border, and it received a major upgrade in 2013. The new 62' x 82' screen is the biggest cinema screen in Scotland, and a new digital projection system allows a larger variety of content to be screened, from the newest blockbusters to educational material supporting the Glasgow Science Centre's schools programme. A Starbucks has been added, with views across the Canting Basin. In the future, Cineworld plans to install its next-generation laser digital projection system.

The nearest train station is Exhibition Centre (Argyle Line), located across the river on the other side of SECC – cross the motorway using the covered walkway. Cessnock subway station is just under a mile away on Cessnock Street, south of Festival Park.

The Imax Theatre at Glasgow Science Centre is the huge, shimmering silver building that stands next to the main Science Mall. It’s home to Scotland's biggest, most awesome screen (60' by 80'), so no matter what you see here, it’s bound to be a blockbuster!

The ImaxTheatre at Glasgow Science Centre is an independent cinema operated by the science centre showing stunning and unique IMAX 3D documentaries, plus immersive full-length feature films that'll have you on the edge of your seat.

It boats a Coffee Shop in the Imax foyer, operated by Glasgow Science Centre, selling a selection of hot and cold drinks, cakes and pastries, sandwiches, toasties and treats. Breakfast rolls are available from 8am.

On the 1st floor of the building, there is a concession stand with a selection of hot and cold drinks and snacks.
