Having consulted with top Harley Street specialists, the St Anne’s Jombulance Brigade and Professor Twitty, that did covid, (the bald one), Count Arthur Strong has decided to gradually phase in his farewell tour over a, yet to be specified number of parts, because of the likelihood of people doing ‘Cold Turkey’ in theatres over him. Whilst partial, himself to the odd bit of cold turkey, it is banned in most theatre auditoriums, apart from in the north east, because of it getting trodden in to the carpets etc, and the cumulative smell. When one of the swans turns into a beautiful young woman, he is instantly captivated – will his love prove strong enough to break the evil spell that she is under?

The Great Escaper Oliver Parker | UK, USA | 2023 | Cert and running time tbc

In the summer of 2014 - the 70th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings - octogenarian Bernie Jordan made global headlines. He’d staged a “great escape” from his care home to join fellow war veterans on a beach in Normandy, commemorating their fallen comrades. It was a story that captured the imagination of the world - Bernie seemed to embody the defiant, “can-do” spirit of a generation that was fast disappearing. But of course, it wasn’t the whole story. It was the story we all tell ourselves to make war and old age bearable. The bitter-sweet script explores the reality with wit and a very big heart. Bernie’s adventure, spanning a mere 48 hours, also marked the culmination of his 60-year marriage to Rene – the story celebrates their love without sentimentality and with an eye to the lessons we can all learn from the Greatest Generation.

Free tea and coffee will be available before the film.

Hancock’s Half Hour: The Lost Episodes

From the producers of the critically acclaimed tours of Round the Horne and The Goon Show comes another radio comedy classic live on stage.

In 1954, Tony Hancock burst onto the airwaves of the BBC Light Programme with a comedy show unlike anything the British public had heard before. Playing a less successful version of himself and surrounded by a cast of fellow comedy greats including Sid James, Hattie Jacques and Kenneth Williams, Hancock’s Half Hour was one of the first programmes in the genre we now know as sitcom.

Written by young up-and-comers Ray Galton and Alan Simpson, who later went on to create Steptoe and Son, Hancock’s Half Hour redefined radio comedy and has had people laughing non-stop for the past 65 years.

So come and take a trip to 23 Railway Cuttings, East Cheam to join ‘the lad himself’ and his motley crew for three classic episodes of this hilarious show.

Renowned American parapsychologist Doctor Roy Earle, famous for discrediting hauntings and exposing fake mediums, is invited to attend a séance in what is said to be the most haunted building in England, a building with a horrific history, Blaine Manor. Even the locals won’t set foot there, as all who walk within those grounds will be cursed.

But his arrival at the manor has awoken something, something horrific within the walls. As a raging storm closes off Blaine Manor from the outside world, Earle and the others find that what is waiting there is not nearly as horrific as what has entered with him…

The Miracle Club (12A)

The Miracle Club

Our Maggie Smith series reaches its grand finale with this heartwarming and inspiring story of forgiveness, friendship, and family set in the late ‘60s.

Maggie Smith, Kathy Bates and Agnes O’Casey star as three close friends from Ballygar, Dublin, who have always dreamt of going to Lourdes. When a chance to win a pilgrimage to the sacred French town arises, Lily (Smith), Eileen (Bates) and Dolly (O’Casey) seize the opportunity to escape.

Having never even left Dublin - let alone Ireland - the journey provides them with an opportunity to let their hair down, celebrate life and delight in some sweet independence. The trip also gives them a chance to reflect on their own lives, with each of the women in search of their own personal miracles.

But when they are joined by Chrissie (Laura Linney), recently returned from a decades-long exile in the USA, old wounds are reopened, and bitter truths exposed. Forced to confront each other and their pasts, the friends realise that the miraculous can be found closer to home than they had believed.

Rollermania with The Legendaries

Les McKeown’s former touring band perform the hits of the Bay City Rollers

The “Legendaries” comprises of members of the late Les McKeown’s final touring band, Scott McGowan, Phil Hendriks, Nick Gornall and Darren Lee. The latest addition is Dave Major on keyboards, who had previously deputised for the band on several occasions.

Scott McGowan had been part of Les’s band for over 12 years, first as guitarist, then as keyboardist and now he returns to guitar and vocals.

Phil Hendriks joined “Les McKeown’s Legendary 1970s Bay City Rollers” as guitarist in 2011, direct from a 3-year stint in original Rollers guitarist Eric Faulkner’s version of the band.

During Scott and Phil’s tenure with Les McKeown’s band, they performed numerous overseas tours in countries including Australia, Japan, Canada, as well as annual UK tours, festivals and numerous TV appearances. They were also part of the backing band at the celebrated Rollers “reunion” shows in 2015 and 2016, which featured original members Les Mckeown, Alan Longmuir and ‘Woody’ and included a televised show at the “T In The Park” festival and the “Hogmanay Live” TV show. Scott and Phil now share the lead vocals in ‘The Legendaries’.

Darren Lee had frequently stepped in on drums before becoming a full-time member in 2019, as did bassist Nick Gornall, both firmly establishing themselves with two tours of Japan, a UK arena tour, UK theatre tours and the fateful Canadian tour in 2020, which was curtailed half-way through due to the Covid pandemic and would sadly be Les McKeown’s final tour.

Stranger Sings

Tune in, children of the 80s! Join us in the upside-down for this award-winning, smash hit new parody musical; Stranger Sings!

Straight from off-Broadway, to a UK premiere 3-month sell-out run in London, we’re now thrilled to announce the UK nationwide Theatre Tour of Stranger Sings!

This award-winning sci-fi spoof is a wild, irreverent twist on the hit Netflix series - in all its hair-raising, blockbuster glory. Take a trip with your favourite gang on a night of indulgent pop culture references, heavy synth, poor parenting, dancing demogorgons and maybe - just maybe - you might find justice for Barb along the way. Let the incredible original writing of Jonathan Hogue subvert the genre with this fearless parody, where there are too many mullets, a generous helping of fairy lights, and the 80s finally embraces feminism.

So, hop(per) on your bike and grab your transmitter radio (don’t forget your inhaler); because saving your friends is the answer to this never ending story. No mouthbreathers allowed.
