Eilis (Ronan) leaves her hometown in 50s Ireland to start a new life in New York City, falling for dashing local Tony (Cohen), but when tragedy strikes back home she has to return. Ronan is outstanding as the quietly strong Eilis but the supporting cast is tremendous, notably Glascott as Eilis' sister and Walters as her opinionated landlady. Masterful.
